Where is the mainland shipping terminal?
The mainland terminal that we use for our Alaskan auto shipments is in Tacoma, Washington. It is the main port where vehicles are being loaded/unloaded in the continental United States.
Is it worth it to ship my car to Alaska?
It is very worth it! If you plan to move to Alaska full time or just for an extended period of time, having your own car with you is incredibly helpful. You will save money by not having to find alternative ways to get around. Shipping your vehicle also saves you the time and money that you would lose by driving the vehicle yourself to Alaska.

We do require that you or a trusted representative is present at the pick-up and delivery locations.

Can you ship non-operable vehicles?
If your vehicle brakes, rolls, and steers we can ship an inoperable vehicle for an additional fee. For each vehicle, the conditions are different. We will need you to call us with further details and an explanation to determine the best way of handling your non-operable vehicle.
How much gas does the vehicle need for the shipping process?
Less than ¼ tank of fuel – no exceptions. This is per U.S. Coast Guard regulation #176.905.
Can I ship more than just a car to Alaska?
Alaska Auto Transportation provides services for a wide variety of vehicles. We can ship anything from a sedan or a van to a boat or a bus!
Do you ship vehicles to other U.S. states?

Can I have personal belongings in the vehicle during the transport?
We do allow for personal belongings to be shipped in your vehicle during transit, but additional fees may apply.
